DANSKE BANK CASEMENT CUP
There are eight teams competing for the Danske Bank Casement Cup this term and that competition also begins this first week of October and finishes in mid-November.
The three Down schools, St Patrick’s, Downpatrick, St Colman’s, Newry and Our Lady’s and St Patrick’s, Knock (OLASP) are all with Rathmore Grammar in Group 1, while Rosses Community School from Dungloe is a new addition to second tier hurling at senior level and they join last season’s beaten finalists St Mary’s, Magherafelt and the two Armagh schools, St Patrick’s, Keady and St Patrick’s, Armagh, in Group B.
In Tier Three the Prize is the Danske Bank Casement Shield and an impressive 19 schools have entered with the initial stages run off in the form of four group blitzes this week.
The top two in each group will go forward to quarter-finals next week, semi-finals the following week and the final will take place before the Halloween Break.
