Gort na Mona have claimed the Antrim Junior Hurling Championship title after a 0-20 to 0-14 win over St Paul’s, with Dessie McClean scoring a huge 0-11 for the Gorts. 

At half time, Gort na Mona held 0-12 to 0-8 lead and were able to extend this lead further thanks to a strong second half showing.

Gort na Mona kicked off the scoring and soon raced into a 0-4 to 0-1 lead with only 10 minutes on the clock.

However, St Paul’s fought back hard and levelled the game soon after, scoring three on the bounce and putting Gort na Mona under pressure with the game at 0-5 apiece.

But soon Gort na Mona piled back on the pressure and St Paul’s had no answer.

With time running out, St Paul’s made a whole raft of changes on the sideline but it was too little too late as Gort na Mona were already in a commanding 0-18 to 0-11 lead.

Gort na Mona added on to more to the scoreboard as they ran out deserved six point victors.
