Ulster camogie coaches in the running for national awards

Two hard-working Ulster camogie coaches are among five finalists shortlisted from across the country for the Liberty Insurance ‘Camogie Made Us Competition’.

Bredagh Underage coach Anne Costello and Peter Doherty (Edendork GAC, Dungannon, Co Tyrone) were selected following a 'Most Inspirational Coach' competition overseen by RTE that produced 200 entries judged by a panel comprising RTÉ sports journalist Marie Crowe, four-time All-Ireland Camogie winner Mags D'Arcy and Liberty Executive Sean Brett.

''It was a tough job cutting down the shortlist for our 'Camogie Made Us' competition and now our final five are looking for your vote. Voting is open,'' said a Liberty Insurance spokesperson.

The other coaches short-listed are: Charlotte Brenner Snr (De La Salle, Waterford), Cathal Pairceir (Good Counsel, Dublin) and

Aideen McCormack (Banner, Co Clare)

The finalists are now in the public vote phase of the competition after which the top two teams will be named to compete at half-time in the All Ireland Camogie finals Croke Park on Sunday September 8.

Voting will close at 6pm this Friday, August 30.
