THE Christy Ring Cup final replay will now be played in Croke Park on Saturday 25 June following an emergency CCCC meeting this morning.

CCCC originally met on Tuesday to discuss last Saturday’s controversial decider, which saw Meath wrongly awarded the trophy after a score-keeping error by referee John O’Brien.

The outcome of that meeting was to schedule a replay in Newry this Saturday. Meath, who had originally hinted that they would not play the replay, dug their heels in and wanted the game refixed for Croke Park on Saturday 18 June.

In a further twist, Antrim county secretary Frankie Quinn told RTÉ Sport on Thursday morning that the Saffrons would turn up to Páirc Esler this Saturday to fulfil the fixture.

But the GAA has now confirmed that "given the unique circumstances involved, the C.C.C.C. agreed to postpone the game."
