RORY McILROY is already looking forward to next year's Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and is urging people to get in early with their ticket orders.

A percentage of the price will go to the Rory Foundation, which was established by McIlroy in 2013. The 2016 Irish Open will be staged at The K Club from May 19-22, while the purpose of the Rory Foundation is to offer support to children's charities around the world.

“The more tickets we sell for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, the more money we will raise for the Rory Foundation. It's as simple as that,” said McIlroy.

“I started the foundation in 2013 and began giving my support to a number of children's charities. In the meantime, I have met a lot of children and their families, living and coping with so much hardship that I am delighted to be involved. The more I see, the more I want to do. Every little bit helps when it comes to fundraising, so I hope people can buy tickets and support the foundation and the Irish Open.”

Ticket prices for the 2016 Irish Open start at €30 for a daily ticket (€20 concession), with season tickets currently available at €70 (€50 concession). Children under the age of 16, accompanied by an adult, will gain free admission. Purchases can be made from now at www.dubaidutyfreeirishopen.com and http://tickets.europeantour.com

Meanwhile, the European Tour has announced a major change to its membership regulations for the 2016 season. Players will only be required to compete in a minimum of five European Tour sanctioned tournaments outside the Major Championships and World Golf Championships.

Since 2011, all European Tour members have been required to undertake a minimum of 13 European Tour events in order to be included in the final Race to Dubai Rankings and be eligible for membership the following season.

That figure has, previously, included four Major Championships and four World Championships, all of which feature on the Race to Dubai.
