KICKHAM’S, CREGGAN: Tonight sees the launch of club fundraiser ‘The Heart and Sole Ramble and Run’. On Sunday, July 26 it is envisaged that over 200 people will take part in this event, with participants mainly walking the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles, a half-marathon distance or participating as part of a relay team.
This event starts at the club and will see participants complete a mainly off-road course before returning back to Creggan for a celebratory barbeque and party.
The ‘Heart and Sole Ramble and Run’ will be the highlight of a weekend full of wellbeing events focused on promoting healthier bodies and healthier minds within the community and further afield.
One of the major goals is to raise funds for five charities that have helped members within the local community, namely Northern Ireland Air Ambulance, Macmillan Cancer Support, Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, Aware and Chest, Heart and Stroke.
Tonight’s launch gets under way at the club at 7.30pm, where everyone is encouraged to come along, complete a registration form and sign up for the challenge.
