FERMANAGH have been given a defensive boost after Ché Cullen dispelled rumours that he is set to go travelling for the year.

The Belnaleck clubman has become a mainstay at the heart of the Erne defence in recent seasons since his switch from midfield.

He most notably kept a tight rein on Michael Murphy during their Championship meeting with Donegal in Ballybofey in the summer of 2016.

It had been rumoured that he was set to opt out of Rory Gallagher’s setup for the season but Cullen yesterday confirmed to The Irish News that he will be part of the panel if selected.

He was due to play in last night’s McKenna Cup opener against Monaghan.
