PETE MCGRATH

Pete has made Fermanagh competitive in his tenure, winning half of the dozen Championship matches he has contested with them. They haven’t looked so good so far this year though, mostly struggling for scores and fragile defensively, but he’ll still fancy their chances against Monaghan and then Cavan if they progress from the preliminary round.

An Ulster title still appears beyond them, though, indeed they’ll probably fall at the first hurdle. The challenge will be picking themselves up and going on a qualifier run.

TOMAS CORRIGAN

Fermanagh have some big players in terms of stature and importance – skipper Eoin Donnelly and full-forward Seamus Quigley – but one of their smaller men could be just as influential. For a side that finds scores hard to come by, the 5’9” Corrigan is a vital presence given his incredible accuracy from placed balls. The Kinawley native, now with Dublin club St Oliver Plunkett/Eoghan Ruadh, converts a very high proportion of his opportunities, not only from frees and ‘45s’ but also from sidelines. He can be the difference between winning and losing for the Ernemen.
