MAYO have today been drawn a tricky home tie with Fermanagh in round 2B of the All-Ireland qualifiers.
Last year’s semi-finalist’s will entertain their Ulster rivals at MacHale Park for the chance to continue their Championship challenge.
The two sides haven’t met in an All-Ireland fixture since Mayo’s semi-final win over Fermanagh in 2004, before going on to lose the final 1-20 to 2-09 to Kerry.
Pete McGrath’s side will travel west to their Connacht opponents on Saturday, July 9 in good form after an impressive win over Wexford at the weekend.
While Stephen Rochford’s Mayo will go into the fixture as the heavy favourites, they will be wary that the Ulster side will be seeking revenge for the semi-final replay defeat 12 years ago.
Elsewhere Longford will face-off with the losers of the Ulster semi-final between Donegal and Monaghan, after defeating Down in extra-time on Saturday.
A Leinster derby between Kildare and Offaly at St. Conleth’s Park was also drawn, while Limerick taking on Cork will make up the rest of the 2B qualifying round fixtures.
