JORDANSTOWN have announced that former Donegal great Martin McHugh has been added to the senior football management team for the upcoming season.

A statement by the University of Ulster said: "Martin will assist the existing management team of Barney McAleenan, Benny Hurl, Paul Rouse and Barry Dillon as we prepare for the upcoming Ryan Cup, McKenna Cup and Sigerson Cup campaigns.

"Martin brings a wealth of playing and managerial experience, including Sigerson Cup wins with Sligo IT. We look forward to working with Martin and wish the entire management and backroom team best wishes for the year ahead."

McHugh, who won an All-Ireland with his native Donegal in 1992, managed IT Sligo to Sigerson Cup glory in the early 2000s and was in charge of the Connacht college last season. He has been the subject of speculation that he was about to take the reins at Jordanstown following their disappointing Sigerson campaign under Barney McAleenan.
