FORMER boxing world champion Brian Magee has been linked to a strength and conditioning role with the Antrim footballers.

It is understood Antrim manager Frank Fitzsimons is keen to recruit the former IBO super middleweight champion for next season following the departure of Mike McGurn.

Former Antrim defender Gearoid Adams could also become Fitzsimons’ right hand man as he rejigs his backroom team.

West Belfast native Magee, who now runs Magee Health & Fitness, has worked across various sports since retiring from professional boxing in 2012.

Former world champion Bernard Dunne successfully made the transition from boxing to GAA and has been a key member of Jim Gavin's backroom team with the Dublin footballers.
