Armagh will escape sanction after Dublin player Davey Byrne sustained serious injuries in a challenge match between the two counties last Thursday.

It was revealed that Byrne suffered a broken nose and a fractured eye socket during a fracas prior to throw-in.

The closed-doors match at DCU Sportsground, presided over by Laois referee Fergal Kelly, went ahead with the agreement of Orchard County boss Kieran McGeeney and Dublin manager Jim Gavin.

The Ballymun Kickhams clubman spent two nights in Beaumont Hospital as a result of his injuries and has been ruled out of contention for Dublin's Leinster Final against Westmeath, which takes place this Sunday.

It was reported today in the Irish Daily Mirror that the CCCC made contact with Kelly but have decided not to pursue matters further.
