Colm ‘Gooch’ Cooper has to be content with a place on the sub’s bench for Kerry's Munster Senior Football final against Cork on Sunday.

Despite starting the semi-final against Tipperary the eight-time all-star winner is one of five changes Eamonn Fitzmaurice has made for the Cork game.

The Kingdom’s subs list is a who’s who of All-Ireland stars – multiple Celtic Cross winners Aidan O’Mahony and Darren O’Sullivan haven’t been named to start Sunday’s clash at Fitzgerald Stadium.

Tommy Walsh, who recently returned from an injury-hit Australian Rules career, hasn’t made the first team either despite reportedly going well at training.

Anthony Maher and the talented Paul Geaney also have to be content with a place on the bench despite playing a large part in Kerry’s All-Ireland success last year.

Not surprisingly the players who have made the grade are some of the best in the country – returning for Kerry are 2014 player of the year James O’Donoghue and All-Star midfielder David Moran, as well as last year’s captain Fionn Fitzgerald.

Stephen O’Brien and Donnchadh Walsh come in as well in the Kingdom’s drive for a third provincial championship in-a-row.
