Cavanagh fit for Tyrone's Ulster opener

SEAN Cavanagh has given Tyrone supporters a huge boost by declaring himself fit for the big Ulster Senior Football Championship clash with Donegal on May 17.

Cavanagh recently went through an operation on a knee problem, and spent some time walking with the aid of crutches.

But he returned to action with his club last night, playing for Moy in a Division One League tie against neighbours Dungannon.

Speculation had been rife that the Red Hand skipper would miss out on the Ballybofey clash, but he now looks certain to lead the Red Hands as they bid to cause a preliminary round upset.
