Danske Bank Treanor Cup final St Michael's, Lurgan .................0-13 St Paul's, Bessbrook ...................1-9 In their last official Ulster colleges' game as St Michael's, Lurgan, the north Armagh school claimed the Danske Bank Treanor Cup in a very tight game at Keady yesterday afternoon.

In September, an amalgamation will take place and St Michael's will become part of the new St Ronan's project, bringing with them the Treanor Cup that they won with strong performances from Aidan Mulholland, Jack Haddock and Jack Lenehan and two points in each half from lively half-forward Eoin McConville.

Overall it was an evenly balanced tie with the teams sharing the first 10 points before St Michael's opened a slight gap with points from Eoin McConville, Lee Haughian and Ruairi McConville.

Niall McGuinness then bagged a goal for St Paul's and his cousin Ronan two points to give Bessbrook an interval lead of 1-7 to 0-8.

Although general play continued to be evenly contested, Lurgan hit four points in the third quarter - two each for McConville and free-taker Shea Geraghty - to take a two-point lead. Seamus Loughran responded with a point for St Paul's, who might have had a 54th minute goal. Goalie Oisin Campbell was beaten but Eugene Doran stopped the ball from crossing the line and from the break upfield Ruairi McConville hit a point that was to prove the winner.
