St Paul's start defence

ST Paul's, Lurgan begin the defence of their Ulster Bank McDevitt crown today when they take on Fermanagh champions St Joseph's, Enniskillen at Garvaghey.

The Armagh lads will go into the game as favourites but they will be well aware of the threat posed by their opponents.

St Joseph's looked impressive when beating St Aidan's, Derrylin in the Fermanagh final and it will be interesting to see if they can make an impact in Ulster.

They will look for big performances from Shane Doherty, Lawrence McKeown,

Ronan McGovern, Darragh Burke and joint captains Sean Cassidy and Callum Jones.

While St Paul's may carry the favourites' tag it is interesting to note that their squad only contains two players who helped the school retain the McDevitt Cup last season, their fourth success at this level.

They can call on the likes of Tiernan Harbison, Adam Loughran, Desmond McCorry, Caelan Tierney and Andrew McAlinden and while they won't get matters all their own way they should still book their place in the semi-final.
