MAYO V CORK: THE STORY SO FAR

THE sides meet in the Championship for the 11th time with Cork winning seven of their previous 10 meetings. Their last five meetings have all been over the last 25 years but prior to that they hadn't met since 1916.

Cork won in 1989, 1993, 1999, and 2002, but Mayo stunned the All-Ireland champions in 2011, winning a quarter-final 1-13 to 2-6.

* CORK are back in the All-Ireland quarter-final for a 10th successive season while Mayo are making a fourth successive appearance. Cork have won eight and lost two of 10 appearances, while Mayo have won five, drawn one and lost three of nine outings.

* THE counties clashed in NFL Division One in March, with Mayo winning by 4-12 to 2-14 in Castlebar. Mayo trailed by five points early on but recovered to lead 3-12 to 0-8 at the three-quarter stage.
