Key battle...

Conor McManus (Monaghan) v Mick O'Grady (Kildare)

KILDARE manager Jason Ryan clearly feels 2011 Allstar Mick Foley is best suited to curtailing the physical presence of Kieran Hughes on the edge of the square and it is no surprise that he has named Celbridge clubman Mick O'Grady at number four.

He is the only Kildare defender with the pace to deal with McManus. Two Mile House defender Peter Kelly, if fit, would have been a shoo-in to mark the Clontibret ace but the Allstar defender has once again been disrupted by a string of niggly injuries in this campaign.

That being said, if McManus is on song, it wouldn't matter who tries to shadow him. He has the capacity to destroy generous defences and the 2013 Allstar could take advantage of a Kildare back-line that has been leaking big scores all year.
