Joe McQuillan (Cavan)
THE Cavan man took charge of the game in Celtic Park between Derry and Donegal. McQuillan's interpretation of the tackle was not very good.
After ignoring a very suspect tackle on Gareth McKinless, Donegal counterattacked and fed the ball to Michael Murphy. McQuillan duly penalised Chrissy McKaigue for a challenge which was much softer than the tackle on McKinless.
McQuillan was also too lenient. Fergal Doherty suffered a back injury in an accidental collision that occurred when he fell to the ground. Television footage showed the Doherty was fouled twice before he hit the deck.
