Walsh set to make debut

DUAL Star Aidan Walsh is one of three Championship newcomers named by Cork hurling manager Jimmy Barry Murphy for the Rebels' clash with Waterford in the Munster SHC quarter-final at Semple Stadium on Sunday.

Walsh is selected at midfield, while centre half-back Mark Ellis and right corner-forward Alan Cadogan also make their Championship debuts.

There are 11 survivors from the team that contested last year's All-Ireland final replay defeat to Clare.

Damien Cahalane is the other change to that line-up as Brian Murphy - who has retired - Conor O'Sullivan, William Egan and the injured Luke O'Farrell are the four players to make way.

Cahalane will make his debut in the Munster SHC, although he lined out at full-back when Cork beat Wexford in the All-Ireland Qualifiers in 2012.

Paudie O'Sullivan is on the bench. He missed the run to the All-Ireland final last year after suffering a double leg break.
