CARRICKMORE scraped home against a Coalisland side that had to play three quarters of last night's thrilling Hunky Dorys Tyrone SFC quarter-final at Healy Park with 14 men.
The Fianna trailed by seven points at half-time, but battled heroically with two second half goals.
Carrickmore bagged two goals in the space of a minute at the end of the opening quarter. Martin Penrose blasted home the first and Conor Gormley grabbed the second.
Coalisland suffered a further blow when centre-back Niall Kerr received a straight red card for confronting Gormley as he celebrated.
The Fianna failed to grab a lifeline when Plunkett Kane had a penalty saved by Plunkett McCallan.
Carmen led by 2-4 to 0-3 at the interval, but Tiarnan O'Hagan pulled back a goal three minutes into the second half, and in the 41st minute they were awarded a second penalty, which Gerard Toner slotted home to level the scores.
Substitute Stephen McNally levelled for Coalisland, but late points from Caolan Daly and Penrose saw Carrickmore into the semi-finals.
