Kingdom axe for forward Donaghy

KIERAN Donaghy has been sensationally dropped from the Kerry team ahead of Sunday's Munster SFC final against Cork in Killarney.

In a shock move, Kerry boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice has opted against playing Donaghy (pictured) in his regular full-forward slot.

Instead, Darran O'Sullivan is included at right corner-forward, with Declan O'Sullivan lining out at number 14.

Elsewhere, Mark Griffin comes in a full-back for his championship debut in place of Aidan O'Mahony, who is ruled out with a dislocated elbow.

Shane Enright also replaces Fionn Fitzgerald at left corner-back while Eoin Brosnan is on the bench after recovering from a knee injury.

Kerry officials took the unusual step of naming their team a day early after growing speculation on Twitter that a key player had been dropped from the team.

Kerry (Munster SFC final v Cork): B Kealy; M O Se, M Griffin, S Enright; T O Se, K Young, P Crowley; A Maher, J Buckley; P Galvin, C Cooper, D Walsh; D O'Sullivan, D O'Sullivan, J O'Donoghue.
