Flying start for Tyrone initiative

PATSY Forbes, the former Tyrone footballer and European athletics sprinter, is spearheading the recently launched 'Hunt for One Hundred' project and, after just one week of the Club Tyrone drive, the search for new members has enjoyed a flying start.

Gaels have responded tremendously and a statement from Club Tyrone outlined that over 50 new members have joined. The campaign is running for the month of June with a target of signing on 100 new members prior to Tyrone taking the field in the All-Ireland SFC Qualifiers.

The next promotional event will be held at the GAA Centre at Garvaghey, a development Club Tyrone fundraising initiatives have contributed more than £3m since 2000, with an open night tomorrow (7pm).

All Tyrone gaels are welcome to the open night for a tour of the new complex, and to watch the senior squad train. Membership is £500 per year, every penny of which supports the development of the GAA at county level.
