BIG-HEARTED intermediate soccer club Newington has made a difference following their fundraising efforts for the local NI Hospice and two food banks in north Belfast.

In just four days, Newington members and friends raised £1,500 for the hospice and delivered food supplies and some much-needed PPE gear to Donegall Street and Duncairn food shelters.

As well as their financial contribution, the club supplied the hospice with board games and quiz books after asking staff what they needed.

“Like a lot of people, our club wanted to make a contribution during the pandemic,” said Newington manager Conor Crossan.

“The players ran a Poker Classic night via Zoom and there were so many generous contributions made by friends of the club. I’m proud to be associated with Newington Football Club and the people that help make it what it is. The food banks and hospice were the places we wanted to help.”

Newington wished to thank Derry Morgan Distributions and sponsor B Cabs with their fundraising efforts.
