Danske Bank Premiership: Previews and odds on all today's games

DANSKE BANK PREMIERSHIP

(All games today, 3pm)

Ballymena United v Glentoran

AFTER three games of the Danske Bank Premiership season, Glentoran remain without a win, while Ballymena have picked up four points from their two matches to date.

David Jeffrey’s men were on fire last time out, putting four past Larne, one of them a Johnny Addis screamer from his own half, at Inver Park.

Glentoran will be aiming to bounce back from their surprise defeat to Dungannon Swifts at the Oval.

Odds: H: 10/11; D: 12/5; A: 5/2

Verdict: Ballymena

Carrick Rangers v Cliftonville

CLIFTONVILLE were ropy in defence during their north Belfast derby defeat to Crusaders last weekend and they will be expected to tighten up today.

Carrick’s victory over Institute ensured they have their first points on the board and they will be confident of giving the Reds a game this afternoon.

Odds: H: 3/1; D: 13/5; A: 8/11

Verdict: Cliftonville

Crusaders v Larne

LARNE were flying until last weekend’s derby defeat to Ballymena – a 6-0 opening day romp against Warrenpoint having been followed up with a 2-1 victory over Carrick.

Crusaders, meanwhile, have been flawless to date, hitting nine without reply in their first three games. That included Jordan Owens and Paul Heatley making the most of some shambolic Cliftonville defending at Solitude last weekend.

The new boys would do well to take anything away from today’s game.

Odds: H: 8/13; D: 11/4; A: 7/2

Verdict: Crusaders

Coleraine v Institute

ORAN Kearney’s return to Coleraine achieved lift-off with a 4-2 win over champions Linfield last Saturday.

Ben Doherty, Stephen O’Donnell and Emmett McGuckin got on the scoresheet at Windsor Park and they will be hoping to be among the goals again today.

Institute are kept off the foot of the table only by the woeful performances of Warrenpoint to date.

Odds: H: 2/7; D: 7/2; A: 9/1

Verdict: Coleraine

Dungannon Swifts v Glenavon

THE Swifts have been the season’s surprise package so far, their win at the Oval last weekend putting them in second spot behind Crusaders.

Glenavon, meanwhile, put a rocky start to the season behind them with a comfortable 2-0 victory over relegation favourites Warrenpoint Town. A trip to Stangmore Park is a tougher proposition for Gary Hamilton’s men, however.

Odds: H: 7/4; D: 12/5; A: 5/4

Verdict: Draw
