Danske Bank Premiership stats

(All games today, 3pm)

Ards v Linfield

ARDS appeared certs for relegation prior to Saturday's shock 3-0 away win at Dungannon Swifts.

As with their win over Linfield earlier in the season, they have proved it is dangerous to write them off.

Linfield have had the perfect Christmas to date, beating rivals Glentoran and Cliftonville and cutting the gap to Ballymena at the top of the table to two points.

Odds: H: 7/1; D: 4/1; A: 2/7

Verdict: Linfield

Coleraine v Cliftonville

THE Reds will be desperate to see the back of the festive season after demoralising defeats to Crusaders and Linfield left them fifth in the table.

The Bannsiders' form has picked up of late and, if they win today, they will overtake Cliftonville in the table.

Ciaron Harkin will be making his final appearance for Coleraine ahead of his move to Derry City.

Odds: H: 5/6; D: 5/2; A: 13/5

Verdict: Coleraine

Crusaders v Ballymena

BALLYMENA begin the year top of the Danske Bank Premiership and this game may go some way towards indicating where they will be come May.

Reigning champions Crusaders have improved of late after a poor start to the season and a win today would leave them just two points behind the Braid men.

Stephen Baxter's men may be coming good at just the right time.

Odds: H: 6/5; D: 12/5; A: 9/5

Verdict: Crusaders

Glenavon v Warrenpoint Town

THREE draws in their last three games have demoted Glenavon from their place in the top three and they could do with getting back to winning ways sooner rather than later.

Two points from the last five games have left Warrenpoint still hanging precariously over the relegation zone and they are unlikely to get any joy today.

Odds: H: 4/11; D: 10/3; A: 6/1

Verdict: Glenavon

Glentoran v Dungannon Swifts

TWO sides who are most definitely out of sorts and both will be desperate to pick up three points this afternoon.

Dungannon's 3-0 home defeat last time out will have damaged their already fragile morale, while Glentoran endured defeats to both Linfield and Crusaders over the Christmas period.

Odds: H: 5/6; D: 5/2; A: 13/5

Verdict: Glentoran

Newry City v Institute

A WIN today and, other results permitting, Newry could be out of the relegation zone.

Newry performed creditably in defeat to table toppers Ballymena last time out and could've came away from that game with something if they had been more clinical in front of goal.

They will have to take their chances today.

Odds: H: 6/4; D: 23/10; A: 6/4

Verdict: Newry
