Martin O'Neill has agreed a contract extension to lead the Republic of Ireland into the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign, the Football Association of Ireland has announced.
Hours after the 65-year-old had revealed he had held initial talks with FAI chief executive John Delaney aimed at prolonging his near-four-year reign, it was confirmed that he had done just that.
Using its official Twitter account, the association said: "Martin O'Neill has agreed a contract extension and will continue as the Republic of Ireland manager for the EURO 2020 campaign!"
O'Neill will send his side into Group D battle with Moldova in Dublin on Friday evening and then Wales in Cardiff three days later with their qualification hopes hanging in the balance.
