HARRY Kane's first Champions League hat-trick lifted Tottenham to a 3-0 victory over Apoel Nicosia on a night when Manchester City also won.

Having gone without a goal in August, England international Kane took his tally to 11 goals for club and country in September with a perfect treble in Cyprus as Spurs made it two wins from two in their group.

City maintained their perfect record too thanks to a 2-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, though record-chasing forward Sergio Aguero had a second-half penalty saved.

Kevin De Bruyne curled home from outside the box to give City the lead after the break and Aguero had the chance to equal the club's all-time scoring record, held by Eric Brook since 1939, when the hosts won a 71st-minute spot-kick.

However, the Argentinian's attempt was not firmly in the corner and Andriy Pyatov guessed correctly to push it wide.

Aguero was later replaced by Bernardo Silva, who set up Raheem Sterling to score his fourth goal in as many games and wrap up the points.

Liverpool, the other English club in action on Tuesday night, drew again in Group E having initially fallen behind to Spartak Moscow.

The Russians barely tested the visitors' goal but Fernando's free-kick earned them the lead before Philippe Coutinho scored his first Champions League goal following a one-two with Sadio Mane to make it 1-1.

Substitute Daniel Sturridge blazed over a glorious chance to win the game late on for Jurgen Klopp's Reds.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice while Gareth Bale was also on target as Real Madrid recorded a 3-1 victory at Borussia Dortmund.

Bale brilliantly volleyed home from Dani Carvajal's pass prior to the break before squaring for Ronaldo to make it 2-0 four minutes after the break.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 13th goal of the season reduced the deficit but Ronaldo scored his 411th Real goal on his 400th appearance by firing past Roman Burki at his near post with 11 minutes to go.

Real, like Group H rivals Spurs, now have two wins from two while Dortmund and Apoel are still yet to pick up a point in the same pool.

In the other game in Liverpool's group, Wissam Ben Yedder's hat-trick earned Sevilla a 3-0 victory against Maribor which puts them top of the pile.

The forward scored twice in the first half, one a tap-in following a fine run by Joaquin Correa, and the other a clinical finish from Franco Vazquez's incisive pass.

Ben Yedder then completed his treble from the penalty spot seven minutes from time.

Napoli ran out comfortable 3-1 winners over Feyenoord as they bounced back from a surprising loss to Shakhtar in their first Group F game.

The Italians, yet to drop a point in Serie A, struck through Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens and Jose Callejon.

Pepe Reina had earlier saved a penalty but Napoli would be denied a clean sheet late on as Sofyan Amrabat claimed a consolation late on.

Elsewhere, Reina's old Liverpool colleague Ryan Babel was on target for Besiktas, along with Anderson Talisca, as they maintained their 100 per cent start with a 2-0 victory over RB Leipzig in Group G.

Also in that group, Vincent Aboubakar grabbed a double and substitute Miguel Layun was on target as Porto beat Monaco 3-0 away from home.
