Ben Woodburn became Liverpool's youngest ever goalscorer

AT 17 years and 45 days Ben Woodburn has become Liverpool FC’s youngest ever goalscorer, beating former England striker Michael Owen.

The young Welsh forward scored the second of Liverpool’s goals in their 2-0 win over Leeds in their League Cup quarter final, in what was also his first appearance in the competition.

Of course for many, the news of Woodburn’s powerful finish was cause for congratulations.

And it looked like the team – well manager Jurgen Klopp and James Milner at least – were happy for the young man too.

Not everyone’s initial reaction was to congratulate the player though, as his age made them inevitably question their own lives – obviously.

Some were possibly feeling a bit envious…

Others felt comparisons needed to be drawn.

Yet more seemed like they needed to get a little older before worrying about comparisons.

Come on Patrick, some people have real problems.

Like Alex here.

However, following the retirement of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard this week, at least some think it’s the future fans really need to be thinking about now…
