HIBERNIAN remain in the hunt for a place in the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership next season after getting the better of Raith Rovers in their play-off quarter-final on Saturday.

Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, the Hibees, managed by Alan Stubbs, soon turned things around thanks to early goals from Scottish international midfielder John McGinn and defender Darren McGregor.

Rovers shrugged off their lacklustre start and pushed forward for the goal that would take the game into extra-time but could not find a breakthrough.

Hibs now take on Falkirk in the play-off semi-final, with the first leg at Easter Road tomorrow night before the sides meet again in Falkirk on Friday evening.

The winner of that will then go forward to face Kilmarnock, who finished second from bottom in the top flight, next week for the honour of joining Rangers in the top division next season.
