Cliftonville fans are rocked tonight by the resignation of manager Tommy Breslin, who enjoyed great success at the helm of the Reds. Cliftonville tonight issued the following statement....
``It is with deep reluctance and regret that Cliftonville Football Club this evening accepted the resignation of Tommy
Breslin from the post of Manager.
The most successful Manager in the history of Ireland's Oldest Football Club, Tommy secured eight trophies -
including back-to-back Premiership titles - following his appointment in 2011 and has given numerous years of
service to the Club as a supporter, player, coach and Manager.
The Management Committee will be looking to ensure that Tommy will continue to have a role at the Club in the future
and they, along with all involved at Solitude, thank him for his magnificent contribution in taking Cliftonville FC to new
heights.
The Management Committee will now embark upon appointing a new Manager and has in the interim asked First
Team Coach Gerard Lyttle to take charge of the team.''
