SEAN MAC DIARMADA, MAGHERY: A lecture by Gerard MacAtasney on the life of Sean Mac Diarmada will take place on Saturday, May 7 in Maghery community hall at 8.15pm, followed by refreshments and music by Finvola in the social club. Ulster GAA president Michael Hasson will be in attendance. Admission is £, tickets available from any commitee member or social club. A donation from this evening will be made to Newry Hospice. Earlier in the day, club members will complete a cycle from Sean Mac Diarmada’s birth place - Kiltyclogher, Co Leitrim - back to the Maghery clubrooms.

O'NEILL’S, AN PORT MOR: The club, in conjunction with Naomh Mhuire camogie club, is having a ‘Come Dine with Port Mor’ evening on Saturday. If you would like to be one of the hosts for this event, contact Colleen Toner on 02837 548690, or contact any club member.

HENRY JOY McCRACKEN’S, MONEYMORE: The club will host a lip-sync battle at Lanyon Hall, Cookstown on Sunday. Judges include special guest Mary K Burke, Eugene Young and Joe Mulholland. Doors open at 7pm, tickets £10.

PEADAR DOIRNN, FORKHILL: The club is hosting ‘Strictly Come Dancing - Forkhill Style’ on Saturday at 8pm (doors opening at 7pm) at Silverbridge Resource Centre.

ST GALL'S: The club hosts its annual Irwin's Bakery May Day tournament. Twenty-four different P5 teams from all over Ulster, as well as one from Dublin, will be participating. Proceedings get under way from 10.15am with a short parade, then straight into action at 10.30am.

ST PATRICK’S, DONAGHMORE: A fundraiser pub quiz will take place tomorrow in Kiery’s Bar at 9pm to raise funds for the club’s ladies GFC. Entry is £3 per person, maximum four people per team. Spot prizes and prize for winning team.

O'CONNELL’S, TULLYSARAN: The club is holding a question and answer night in the community centre on Saturday night, starting at 8.30pm. Come along to meet stars Steven McDonnell, Darragh O Se, Ryan McMenamin and Jennifer O'Leary. Admission £10.

ST JOSEPH’S, GLENAVY: The community festival starts tomorrow and runs until Sunday. Tomorrow night, there will be bingo at St Clare's Hall at 8pm followed by a Texas Hold'em poker night afterwards. Saturday will see the Mark Ruddy Memorial Sevens tournament take place, starting at 12pm. That evening, beginning at 8.30pm, comedy hypnotist Michael McCoy brings his show ‘I've Been Hypnotised - Get Me Out of Here’ to St Clare's Hall. The Big Breakfast will take place on Sunday morning from 10am-1.30pm, and that night ‘Orange or Black - You Decide’ takes place in St Clare's Hall, starting at 8pm sharp. Following the show, The Cove will keep everybody entertained from 10pm until late.

ATTICALL: The camogie club is running a ‘Mr and Mrs’ fundraiser on Saturday night. Disco to follow, admission £10. Tickets can be obtained from any of the senior camogie team, or Grant Stores, or pay at the door.

O’RAHILLY’S, CLONOE: Centenary Mass takes place in the community tomorrow at 8pm.

MICHAEL DWYER’S, KEADY: The club is holding a child protection tomorrow night at 7.30pm, followed by a foundation course on Saturday at 9.30am in the McGleenan pavilion. Tutors are Paul Donnelly and Gary Mallon.

EOGHAN RUA, KILCOO: This year’s Mourne Challenge event will take place on Saturday, May 14. The cost per head is £40 per person or £140 for a team of four. Further details and sponsor cards can be obtained from any committee member or by writing directly to the club’s social media pages.

LOCH MOR: Amhrán na bhFiann classes take places on Tuesday nights at Ionad Teaghlaigh Ghleann Darach from 7.30pm-8.30pm for all who wish to learn the national anthem in Irish. You can book through your local GAA club or just come along. Children under 12 must be with a parent or a coach. Cost is £1 per lesson and will run for a number of weeks.
