Northern Ireland's Commonweath Games boxing captain Sean McComb has been banned from some areas of the Gold Coast after becoming involved in an incident at a nightclub.

Police were called to Sin City nightclub in Surfers Paradise at around 2.45am local time on Tuesday and issued an infringement notice to the 25-year-old for causing a public nuisance.

It is believed security guards were involved in the incident. Police said noone was injured.

McComb has been banned from the Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach Safe Night Precincts.

On Sunday the boxer lost to England's Luke McCormack in the last 16 of the light-welterweight division.

Elsewhere, Northern Ireland have been guaranteed a second boxing medal after Michaele Walsh won her women's 57kg last-eight bout.

It follows Kristina O'Hara guaranteeing at least a bronze medal after winning her light-flyweight quarter-final on Sunday.

Northern Ireland's current medal tally stands at four. Along with the two boxing medals, gymnast Rhys McClenaghan won gold on the pommel horse and shooter Gareth McAuley landed bronze in the men's skeet.
