THE award-winning Co Down-based Born2run is gearing up for a busy summer, with races taking place in the midst of the Mournes in both July and August.

The Country Kitchen Sea2Sky 5k and 10k will take place in Newcastle on Friday, July 14. This year's race, with a new title sponsor, could easily be called Sky2Sea as the 5k route, which has been added for the first time, is practically all downhill.

Online entry is still open and entry fee is £20. There is a special rate of £14 for junior runners (age 12-17 years). Runners must be 12 years plus to enter the 5K and 15 years plus to enter the 10K.

New sponsors Country Kitchen make the most delicious salads and coleslaws and runners will get the chance to sample for themselves at the post-race BBQ in O’Hare’s.

Saturday, August 19 will see the latest staging of the Dambusters Half Marathon, 10K and 5K races in the beautiful Silent Valley Park.

The Dambusters Half Marathon is the last in the Pure Running Half Marathan series and early bird rates are available until Wednesday July 19. Current entry fees are £27 for half marathon, £18 for 10k and 5k, with a special £12 rate for juniors (12-17). Same rules apply regarding ages as for Sea2sky.
