CROSSMAGLEN will begin the inaugural Ulster U21 Club Football Championship next month when they take on the Fermanagh champions.
Belcoo and Tempo are scheduled to meet in the Erne county final and the winners will face the Armagh champions after last night’s draw at the home of the competition sponsors, the Elk near Toome. There wereahost of big names packed into the venue, with Liam Bradley, Mickey Moran and new Omagh manager Paddy Crozier in attendance.
The draw for the first Paddy McLarnon Cup was made by the late former Creggan and South West Antrim Board chairman’s wife Josephine, along with club chairman Tony McCollum, Antrim vice-chairman Jim Murray and Ulster Council PRO Michael Hasson.
Antrim champions and hosts Creggan will take on either Burren or Longstone from Down, who will meet in one of the four as yet undecided county finals. Creggan claimed the Antrim title with a thilling 0-13 to 1-9 win over then holders Cargin in May.
