DONEGAL got their first win of their National Football League campaign in a narrow win over Kildare at Ballyshannon on Sunday.

A lucky goal from the outstanding Ryan McHugh guided a shaky home side to victory in the 65th minute against a gritty 14-man Kildare outfit, who had captain Eoin Doyle dismissed for a second yellow card offence.

Also in Division One, Galway made it four wins from four in their campaign to date, with a famous win over Kerry in Killarney. Goalkeeper Ruairí Lavelle made a superb double save in the dying stages of the game to secure maximum points for the westerners.

In Divison Two, Down were defeated at home by Clare, while Cavan took a win away from their trip to Cork.

In Division Three, Armagh continued their promotion push with a six-point win over Offaly in Tullamore, while Antrim remain in the hunt for Division Four honours after victory over London at Ruislip.

In the National Hurling League, the Saffron hurlers remain pointless in Division 1B after a heavy defeat to Limerick in Cushendall, while Donegal claimed a notable victory over Down in Division 2B.
