Ulster Club SFC quarter-finals: Kilcar (Donegal) 1-16 Scotstown (Monaghan) 1-6; Slaughtneil (Derry) 0-10 Omagh (Tyrone) 0-8; Cavan Gaels (Cavan) 1-19 Lámh Dhearg (Antrim) 0-10; Derrygonnelly Harps (Fermanagh) 2-8 Armagh Harps (Armagh) 1-8

KILCAR put on a masterclass to dismiss Monaghan side Scotstown in this afternoon’s Ulster Club Senior Football Championship quarter-final at Clones.

Captain Patrick McBrearty racked up eight points for the Donegal champions to stun the Farney county representatives, who went into the game as favourites.

Although Scotstown were leading by two after 20 minutes, Kilcar hit a goal and six points without reply before the break to put them firmly in control.

Kilcar will now face Slaughtneil in a November 10 semi-final after the Derry champions edged out Omagh by two points in Celtic Park on Saturday night.

In this afternoon’s other quarter-final, Cavan Gaels cruised to a 12-point victory over Antrim representatives Lámh Dhearg in Kingspan Breffni Park.

Seánie Johnston was in fine form for the Gaels, while the best efforts of Paddy Cunningham and the goalkeeping heroics of John Finucane couldn’t turn the tide for the Belfast men.

Cavan Gaels will meet Derrygonnelly in the other Ulster semi-final, the Fermanagh champions having overcome Armagh Harps in Brewster Park on Saturday evening.
