Referees confirmed for Ulster final day

JOE McQuillan will referee the Ulster final between Tyrone and Down, The Irish News can reveal.

The experienced Cavan official has been on the national panel since 2004 and was the All-Ireland final referee in 2011 and 2013, when Dublin claimed the title on both occasions.

This will be his first outing in the Ulster Championship this summer.

McQuillan refereed Tyrone's National League clash with Dublin in Croke Park earlier this year and sent off Mark Bradley at a crucial time early in the second half, after which Dublin recovered to snatch a draw.

The minor final between Derry and Cavan will be refereed by Monaghan's Martin McNally.
