MALACHY O’Rourke has named his Monaghan panel for the Dr McKenna Cup opener against Fermanagh in Clones on January 8.

In a strong 29-man squad, there are eight new additions with Donaghmoyne duo Mikey Murnaghan and Stephen Finnegan joined by Aaron Lynch (Carrickmacross), Stephen McCabe (Latton), Niall Kearns (Sean McDermott’s), Michéal Bannigan (Aghnamullen), David Mc Allister (Emyvale) and James Wilson (Toome).

Scotstown’s Conor Forde and James Mealiff of Clones have still to make their competitive debuts and are included while Brian Greenan (Clontibret) and Dessie Ward (Ballybay) both return, having been included in the 2015 panel.
