Video: Conor McGregor ramps up his war of words with Floyd Mayweather

It’s been one of the biggest years in a long time for combat sport, with Conor McGregor, and Anthony Joshua all dominating the headlines.

One of the main stories has been the “will they/won’t they” between McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, which for the majority of 2016 has been viewed as nothing more than rumours both fighters were happy to entertain.

But since McGregor’s historic UFC 205 win, after which Mayweather compared the Irishman to an “ant”, things look like they’re genuinely heating up. Here’s the latest from The Notorious:

“Tell Floyd and Showtime, I’m coming. Tell him to go to them Showtime offices. I want 100 million dollars cash to fight you under boxing rules ’cause he’s afraid of a real fight,” he said.

“Floyd’s not ready for this. Much respect to Floyd, he’s a solid businessman. What he has been able to do, he’s a fucking animal at what he’s been able to do but as far as real fighting, as far as true, pure unarmed combat – Floyd don’t want none of this.”

Granted, it’s highly likely that all this talk will come to nothing, but they don’t call Mayweather “Money” for nothing – if the pay day’s right, anything is possible.
