2002: Mick McCarthy quits as Republic of Ireland manager.


2004: Frenchman Jacques Santini resigned as Tottenham manager due to personal reasons.


2006: The International Series was left in doubt following a hot-tempered second test at Croke Park with Graham Geraghty stretchered off the field early on.


2007: Wigan sacked manager Chris Hutchings after just six months in charge.


2009: The New York Yankees won their 27th World Series, beating the Philadelphia Phillies to secure a 4-2 series success.


2011: Down’s Orla Magian, Fionnuala Carr, Catherine McGourty and Niamh Mallon, along with Armagh’s Colette McSorley, were presented with Soaring Star awards at the Camogie Allstars.
