Ulster MFC quarter-final: Cavan 1-12 Armagh 2-14
The age-old maxim that 'a big good'un will invariably beat a small good'un' ricocheted around an atmospheric Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday as Armagh stood tallest of all in a lively Ulster MFC quarter-final tussle.
Armagh's superior size and strength saw them came out on top in the close exchanges more often than not and they had touches of class close to goal that Cavan couldn't match, but it was their aerial ability which illuminated proceedings most of all.
Cavan gave it their all and, with 18 minutes left to play in the second-half, they trailed by just a single point, 1-8 to 1-9. The Breffni Blues fought to the death and, with less than a minute left of normal-time, just three points separated the teams.Instead of tiring, the big, strapping Armagh lads unleashed a sting in their tail and Callum O'Neill's palmed goal (63) - after good approach work by messrs.
