PETE McGRATH and Kevin Ryan have been named as Ulster football and hurling managers respectively for the upcoming Inter-Provincial Championships.

Current Fermanagh boss McGrath, who guided the Erne men to this year’s All-Ireland quarter-final, will take charge of the province’s footballers as they take on Connacht at the Athletic Grounds, Armagh on Saturday December 5, the same day Munster face Leinster in Páirc Esler, Newry. The winners of those semi-finals will play each other the following day in Armagh.

Ryan, who led the Antrim hurlers to four successive Ulster Championships between 2012 and '15, will prepare his side for their clash with Connacht at Pearse Stadium, Salthill, also on December 5, with the final in the same venue 24 hours later.

McGrath and Ryan replace Joe Kernan and Gregory O’Kane respectively.
