RYAN MOORE'S dash from America after winning the Breeders' Cup Turf on Found paid dividends as he drove Johannes Vermeer to victory in the Criterium International at Saint-Cloud.

Johannes Vermeer, trained by Aidan O'Brien, was gaining Group One reward after finishing second to Marcel in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster eight days earlier. However, it was a close call as the Irish raider was pushed all the way by the Ed Walker-trained Stormy Antarctic, ridden by Andrea Atzeni, and there was little in it at the line.

Donjuan Triumphant finished fourth for the Richard Fahey-Middleham Park Racing axis.

Johannes Vermeer was quoted at 20-1 with Betfred and Paddy Power for the Qipco 2000 Guineas.
