ARMAGH defender Finnian Moriarty has announced his inter-county retirement.

The 32-year-old was handed his chance with the Orchard county by Joe Kernan and has featured prominently for Peter McDonnell, Paddy O’Rourke, Paul Grimley and Kieran McGeeney in the years that followed.

He won an Ulster title in 2008, as well as a Division Two title in 2010 and a Division Three title earlier this year.

Midfielder Stephen Harold has also announced that he is to take a year’s absence from the game. The Carrickcruppen man is focussing on his work commitments, but plans a return to action for the 2017 season.
