Harte confirmed as Tyrone manager for 2016

MICKEY HARTE has been reappointed as Tyrone manager after intense speculation of his future with the Red Hands. Harte was handed a two-year term at a meeting of the county executive with club delegates at Garvaghey and has emerged with a more enhanced term than the previous one-year stretch that had just run its course.

Last week, Harte met a three-person delegation from the county executive, led by chairperson Roisín Jordan, to discuss all aspects of the team management situation. He reiterated his desire to remain in the job, a position he had outlined publicly in the immediate aftermath of the four-point defeat to the Kingdom.

At that meeting, the treble All-Ireland winning manager submitted his detailed plan to bring the glory times back to the Red Hand county.

On Tuesday night, details of the delegation’s deliberations were conveyed to the remainder of the county executive and to club delegates at a crunch meeting at Tyrone GAA headquarters in Garvaghey.

It was agreed and confirmed that Harte will once again take charge of the Tyrone senior team in 2016.

The All-Ireland U21 winning management team of Feargal Logan, Brian Dooher and Peter Canavan was also returned on a two year term.
