MICKEY HARTE has made one change to the Tyrone team ahead of Saturday’s All-Ireland Senior Football Championship round 4b Qualifier clash against Sligo at Croke Park.
Rory Brennan, one of this year’s U21 All-Ireland winning side, comes in for Cathal McCarron at corner-back. Elsewhere, Harte has stuck with the same side that defeated Tipperary 0-19 to 0-07 on July 18 in Semple Stadium.
Tyrone have had a more settled look than last year, particularly in defence, but centre-half back Justin McMahon has not fully recovered from hamstring problems in time for Saturday’s match and is named on the sub’s bench.
Peter Harte is listed at left-half back and the Errigal Ciaran clubman has been one of Tyrone’s best performers in the championship to date.
Trillick’s Mattie Donnelly is named at midfield and after a slow start to the championship showed what he is capable of in an all-action performance against Tipperary.
In the half-forward line, members of this year’s U21 squad Mark Bradley and Conor Meyler join Tiernan McCann. Meyler made his senior county debut against Tipperary and is a member of the Omagh St Enda’s side that reached this year’s Ulster Senior Club Championship final.
At full-forward is five-time Allstar Seán Cavanagh, making his 77th championship appearance for Tyrone. The corner forward spots are taken by Darren McCurry and Connor McAliskey, who both impressed against Tipperary.
