Joe good to go for Ulster final

JOE McMahon will be fit to take his place in the Omagh St Enda's midfield for Sunday's Ulster Club Senior Football Championship final against Derry chanmpions Slaughtneil.

The Tyrone star was taken off injured during his side's semi-final win over St Eunan's, Letterkenny, but the injury has cleared up in time for the Athletic Grounds decider.

"I'm feeling good," said McMahon (above) after the Omagh club's well attended big breakfast fundraiser at the Mellon Country Hotel on Saturday.

"I got a bit of a bang against Letterkenny but it was just precautionary at the time that I was taken off.

"I was training last night and everything feels good."

He had to watch the nervy closing stages against St Eunan's from the bench and admits he was relieved when the final whistle confirmed Omagh's first ever Ulster final berth.

"There was a stage when we lost our way but I don't think it was down to me going off - it was that they got the ascendancy and started to win balls around the middle," he said.

"They were crowding the middle and we sat back and let them come on to us. If they had chipped away at the points instead of going for goals at stages."
