Red Hands go for four

TYRONE'S bid for four Dr McKenna Cup titles in-a-row will begin on January 4 when they go head-to-head with either Armagh, Antrim or St Mary's who make up the remaining three places in Group C, writes Ryan McCann. Mickey Harte's men have enjoyed considerable success in the competition over the last decade, with seven of their 12 titles coming since the Errigal Ciaran native took the reins in 2002. Ulster champions Donegal, meanwhile, have been drawn alongside Fermanagh, Derry and Queen's in Group B. The Tir Chonaill men will taste competitive action for the first time under new manager Rory Gallagher. Monaghan - the competition's most successful team - have been drawn alongside Down, Jordanstown and last year's beaten finalists Cavan.

The fixtures will be confirmed by the Ulster Council in the coming days.
