McKinless takes reins at Ardboe

FORMER Ballinderry manager Martin McKinless (right) was last night appointed as the new Ardboe manager, writes Cahair O'Kane.

The Ulster Club-winning manager joins the Tyrone club with a highly impressive CV and philosophy for football. After five Derry SFC titles in three different spells with the Shamrocks, he stepped down from the post following their All-Ireland club semi-final exit at the hands of St Vincent's in February this year.

McKinless also won a Tyrone intermediate title with Derrylaughan in 2010 and brought the club back to the senior tier in the O'Neill county. After a season out, McKinless will step back into club football and with his managerial pedigree, he could be the man to bring success to the Ardboe club, who are without a Tyrone Senior Football Championship since 1998.
